February 13th, 2011 by eranio

I’m 19 going to college and living with my brother and mom and dad. I want a shotgun for protection and maybe hunting later on. But my mom says hell no. I told her what if someone breaks in and is violent with weapons and she’s relentless. I need some stories, videos etc of families who didnt have protection and got robbed or something to make her realize we need a gun in the house.

Mossberg 590 a good Pump/shotgun?

December 18th, 2010 by eranio

I know I just asked a question but I want to restate it… I’m 18 years old and want something for Home Protection that I can also ride around with under my seat for protection. A cop once told me that your Truck is an extension to your home and someone trying to break in your car can be shot just like someone trying to break in your house. If someone Throws a Brick at my window and breaks it, What will happen if I shoot them? (Just wondering). Anyways… What’s a good Pump/Shotgun for Protection at home and in car? I live in an apartment and they do allow weapons here. It’s kind of like a project and people break in cars and things all the time around here. I’m moving in 2 months when lease is up. Thanks in advance and please try to stay in rance of 0-0 for a good gun thanks. 5 star best answer.
Where can I get a Mossberg 500 in New Orleans, La? After reading about them and seeing the youtube videos I want one now, I’m still looking at some others guns as well though.

How obsolete is my original black powder Model 1887 Shotgun and Mosin Nagant rifle?

August 27th, 2010 by eranio

How do these, long barrel, timeless, hardy, reliable, rock solid, and battle tested weapons compare to today’s plastic, unreliable toy guns?

No new plastic M16/m4 or AA-12 can even approach the quality and power of a Winchester Shotgun (Much less a rifle). The same goes for my War Winning Mosin Nagant. Even today you all fear these weapons on the battlefield. Your short barrels give your weapons no range in comparison.

VZ58 Rifle Plan, Sights and Frills

June 2nd, 2010 by eranio

The Vz. 58 is a 7.62mm  assault rifle designed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia and conventional into service in the late 1950s as the 7,62 mm samopal vzor 58 (“7.62mm submachine gun model 1958″), replacing the vz. 52 self-loading rifle and the 7.62x25mm Tokarev vz. 24  and vz. 26 submachine guns. The vz. 58 externally be similar to the Soviet AK-47 but is internally a completely different design based on a short-stroke gas piston.

Design details – Operating mechanism

The vz. 58 is a selective fire gas-operated weapon that bleeds expanding combustion gases generated in the container from the ignited cartridge through a port drilled in the barrel, 215 mm (8.5 in) from the board room, aperture into a unfilled cylinder located over the cask that have a short-stroke piston. The vz. 58 does not have a gas monitor and the full strength of the gas pressure is exerted on the piston head, propelling it toward the back in a single impulsive blow. The piston is driven back only 19 mm (0.7 in) when a take on on the piston rod butts against the seating and no extra group is workable. There is a light go back spring held between the piston bear and the seating which returns the piston to its ahead location.

The locking system features a falling breech lock hinged from the bolt and housed in the bolt carrier that contains two locking lugs which descend into and engage locking shoulders in the beneficiary’s internal guide rails. The weapon is unlocked by the short tappet-like stroke of the piston rod as it strikes the bolt carrier and drives it rearwards. After 22 mm (0.9 in) of unrestricted travel, an wedge-like surface on the bolt carrier moves under the breech locking piece and lifts it up and out of engagement with the locking recesses in the steel body.

Sights

The rifle’s iron sights consist of a fully adjustable front post and a tangent rear spectacle with a sliding notch with range denominations from 100 to 800 m, graduated every 100 m. Besides this, the left side of the rear prospect leaf is marked with the letter “U”, for snap shooting, firing at moving targets and night combat at ranges up to 300 m. The front picture base also serves as a mounting platform for the vz. 58 edged bayonet.

Vz 58 Accessories

Additional equipment supplied with the rifle includes: 4 spare magazines, a magazine pouch, vz58 bayonet and scabbard, cleaning brush, muzzle cap, oil bottle, unified sling, front view adjustment tool and a threaded blank-firing adaptor.

Best choice for home defence: 9mm or shotgun?

May 20th, 2010 by eranio

I live in a town home type condo complex with a common wall on two sides of my unit. I’ve had a 9mm hand gun for a while and just inherited a double barrel shot gun.

For home defense, what would be the best choice, the 9mm hand gun or a double barrel shotgun?

I am concerned about accidently injuring a neighbor, the 9mm is sure to go though at least one if not two or more walls but it is only one bullet. Versus the shotgun were there would be 5-10 pellets in a buck shot type round or dozens of much smaller pellets in bird shot type round but what they might not penetrate as many walls.

Any opinions please.
speshal:
I live in California not Afghanistan
I don’t want to buy new weapons and I hope not to have to use them so I am stuck with the guns a I have: A 1918 Luger (9mm) and a double barrel 12 ga Shotgun; nitro speical made in 1924 by Ithica arms of New York (a duck hunting gun?)
I want to thank everyone for posting their replies, it’s been very informative! There were several answers I think are the best but haven’t quite decided which one just yet.

I think my best options are selecting the right type of ammo both guns; something like the Glaser safety slug for the 9mm and low brass/low recoil #8 type bird shot for the shotgun for home defense.

And then keep some high power 9mm rounds and 00 buck shot 3in for; insurrection, rioting and radio active zombies.

Could Gears of War 2 be tactical?

April 28th, 2010 by eranio

So far this is your typical Gears of War 2 multiplayer match: everyone rushes to the power weapons (most notably the boomshot), and spams smoke grenades in every direction. Once the majority of both teams has fallen to the ground, there’s usually a couple people standing to run through with their shotgun and kill everyone while they’re getting up. Of course from here there’s usually one team that has 4 players and the other team has about 2. At this point, everyone without a power weapon in their hands is using that stupid 2 piece tactic. Generally, the game turns out to be a cat and mouse chase when only 1 player is left. At this point, if their are frag grenades on the map, this player will just sit where they spawn and plant them on every floor and wall imaginable, which is definitely making the match longer than it needs to be, seeing as he will usually die anyway. One question: is there a way Epic can make Gears of War 2 a tactical game like they intended it to be?

Can someone carry a shotgun in a vehicle on a military instillation?

April 22nd, 2010 by eranio

Like here in Texas you can have a shotgun in your vehicle, but what about in FT. Hood, TX. The military is in charge there but doesn’t Texas Constitution overrule the military policies. I have read on the policy letters that weapons are not allowed in the barracks but Iv heard nothing about POV’s.

How was the gun used to kill Matthew Winkler clicked off safe?

April 12th, 2010 by eranio

I know guns, but this I cannot figure out. If Mary did not know how to operate the features of a shotgun, as her attorneys themselvs stated, and if the gun cannot be discharged without pulling the trigger, as the TBI weapons expert stated-also testifying that the gun was functioning properly, and if there is no question on either side that Mary Winkler was holding the gun when her husband was shot, then how did the safety get clicked from "safe" to "fire" mode? Are her lawyers and the D.A. missing this or are her lawyers implying that Matthew actually kept a loaded gun on the top shelf of a closet in which the safety was not engaged?

Which shotgun do you prefer: the Mossberg 500 or the Mossberg Maverick?

March 9th, 2010 by eranio

I’m interested in purchasing a Mossberg shotgun, but am not sure of the differences between these 2 weapons. No matter what what model I go with, the barrel will be 20 inches. I will be bringing this to my remote home where it will be used for home defense and must also be capable of stopping large wildlife (i.e. bears inhabit region).

Mafia Wars – Other people my level have weapons I can't buy?

March 8th, 2010 by eranio

I’ve lost to people my level with weapons I don’t have the option to buy on my inventory screen. I started yesterday, I’m level 10. These items include tactical shotguns, 9mm Semis, and AKs. How do I get these?
They rarely have more people than me – and if they do it’s not by much. I have 12 people.

I’ll do some "special jobs" and see what happens for me.
