I am 18 and currently a Criminal Justice major in college and I plan to be in a federal law enforcement agency. I would like to get a little bit of experience with weapons and since I’m only 18 I want to buy a shotgun. I’m looking for a shotgun that is great quality and one that may be easy to use since I am inexperienced with guns. I am willing to spend up to 0 or 0.
I see footage of Marines using shotguns on patrol in Iraq or clearing rooms? I was wondering what the role of the Marine with the shotgun is? How is it different than those with other types of weapons on the fire team? And what kind of loads are typically used in the field?
I am interested in getting a shotgun for hunting but would also like to deck it out for home defense/tactical look and feel when not hunting with it. I can choose between a pump and semi auto but according the the BATFE, I know it has to be at least 26 inches, but I cannot seem to find anything in the regs at the ATF’s website that isnt convoluted. So, does anyone know if a semi auto shotgun equipped with a pistol grip tactical stock(not folding or telescoping and not pistol grip only). is classified as a destructive device falling under class3 weapons?
PS I live in Arizona so state regulations are pretty much identical to federal regulations.
Again, is it a semi auto where I will run into the problem; I know they are legal with pumps, I owned a mossberg 500A that I put a tactical stock on. somewhere I remember seeing that if you put a pistol grip style of stock on a semi auto it would be classified as a NFA destructive device along with the street sweeper and the SPAS12. I’ve never seen a pistol grip semi auto shotgun that didnt require you filling out a form4 but they were the afore mentioned models.
Hello all. I’m currently working on a short story which revolves around a SWAT operation in which a Swat team encounters multiple suspects and frees a hostage in a house (which means close quarters combat, hence the smg’s and shotguns) I’d love to have accurate weapons SWAT is know to use in real life to give it a realistic feel. Thank you so much.
Some people say there are weapons that can not be recognized by a ballistic tests. For example, the shotguns used to hunt dear, but if that is the case, then why the government expects us to register or make a ballistic tests of our shotguns anyways???
Does it make sense? or just money–sense???
to learn about the pro's and con's of each as well as the biggest mistake all the "heavy artillery" guys make when choosing "terminator ammo"!
(Hint: It has nothing to do with "stopping power" but it's nearly as important to your family that you get this right! Not doing so could cost you a lifetime of grieving that no law-abiding family should suffer...EVER!)Read More...
