I’m an italian hunter. In Italy most common hunting guns brands (those ones I know) are Beretta, Benelli, Breda, Franchi, Bernardelli, Browning and Fabarm; while most common hunting ammos are Fiocchi, RC, Baschieri & Pellagri, Romana Munizioni, Rottweil, Gualandi, NobelSports, Winchester, Federal and Remington.
And you?

I’m looking for a new Semi-auto (light-weight) shot gun that I can put a rifled barrel on and use as a slug gun.
I was looking around and found out Benelli’s semi-autos have an inertia system instead of a gas one. Does that system still use the recoil of the gun? How does it work different from the gas.
(and if you know of any good light-weight semi-auto slug guns please feel free to post any oppinions or info on that) (except Remingtons, I can’t stand em)
Josh, I love Winchester. I own an SX3. However Winchester doesn’t make a lightweight slug gun. And to buy a new barrel for a gun cots 0 with tax. I want something light weight.
I honestly don’t like pumps. They don’t feel very comfortable in my oppinion. They are either to long or two short. (maybe it’s just me)

can get 100 for at wal mart. i have been using federal and damn! i have to spend about an hour thoroughly cleaning every inch of the inside of my remington 870 synthetic 7 round!
i have heard that winchester is very clean. is this true? if so, and if not, i still want your opinion on which brand is cleaner that you can get in bulk. i usually use about 250 rounds per shooting session for my 12 gauge.

I use a mossberg 500 shotgun with a 28 inch vent rib barrel with a modified choke. i use federal field and target 2 3/4 inch #6 steel shot. is this a good setup for prairie chicken shooting and crow, and how big will my pellet spread be at about 30 yards?
i also have a box of winchester super double X 3" magnum copperplated lead #4 shot. would this be worth the hefty recoil?

I dont know a lot about shotguns. I have a Benelli Nova pump. Can I use a steel shot in this gun? It says on the box of shells to make sure the gun is designed for steel shot. How do I know if it is or not, also what is a better name to use. I bought Winchester Xpert HI-VELOCITY 3" steel shot. All help welcome.Thanks.

I like to buy American firearms. I know Marlin, Remington, and Winchester are American. What else? What in the way of shotguns these days, other than those three?

I’m OIC for an upcoming shotgun range and would like to include a couple breaching obstacles. I’m doing research for it and all publications refer to the Mossberg 500 or 590. Is it safe to perform a doorknob and/ or hinge breach with the Winchester 1200? Also what is the probability of pellets ricocheting back onto the firer?

Does anyone know if the 10 round magazine of the Benelli R1 30-06 will work with the R1 300 winchester mag. I know that the case sizes are different, but I was wondering with a little gunsmithing if this would work. The magazines for the Benelli cost too much for me to experiment with. If they only made 10 round magazines for the 300 win mag.

I have a benelli Nova pump that came with a IC skeet choke, a modified, and a full choke tube. With the IC skeet being widest, can it shoot slugs? I was considering finding a rifled choke tube, but my local stores only carry 12ga. I have fired some Federal hyper velocity through it and got some great 4inch groups at 30yards just using the IC skeet tube.
Yes, I have tried winchester super X, I don’t remember the exact load, but all of them key holed in a 9inch group. I also just bought some winchester rifled slugs to test.

My dad, before being laid off, got me this Benelli Montefeltro. It was a gift from his lumber company for buying so much wood that year. This was maybe 2 years ago? Heworked for Avery Edwards, if they bought so much, the Lumber Company would give everyone a gift, (it was a small company.) I was just curious. It’s an awesome shotty no doubt for the exception of a few jams here and again.
I use winchester shells from Dick’s.

I recently purchased a used winchester 1200/ model 2200 shotgun. The gun is approximately 25 to 30 years old, 2 3/4 chamber, 12 ga.. It has an original Poly-Choke system fixed to the end. The gun and choke are in excellent condition. I have had trouble finding information as to the possibility of safely using steel shot with this set-up.

Hi I just bought my first shotgun since I just turned 18. I am wanting to know if my Mossberg 500 12 gauge is capable of firing slugs. It says in the owners manual that the 500 models are designed for 2-3/4" and 3" magnum shells. I bought a pack of winchester 2-3/4" 12 gauge shells and a 5 pack of 2-3/4" 12 gauge sabot style slugs. If you own one of these could you tell me if you have fired the slugs out of one and do they work fine. I havent used my gun yet and dont want to ruin it. Thank You and if you need more information to answer just let me know and I will e-mail you or you can e-mail me.

I am looking for a really good shotgun for hunting deer (shooting slugs). I know I want a brand new one and a new model as well. I will spend up to about 00 but prefer to spend about 0-800. I also want something that I can also use for turkey hunting (something that comes with different barrels or chokes). I was looking online (winchester, mossberg & Remiington) but there are so many different models on the websites I dont know which is the right one? Any help would be appreciated. Please include specific model #’s or links so I can find it.
for everyone that says mossberg 500 how about this one – do you think it is better than the 500??

when you factor in weight, balance, function, reliability, price, and looks. i’m talking about upland hunting, not waterfowl
i already own 2 Benelli shotguns and in my opinion they are the ONLY auto loader to own. in fact a very good freind and long time hunting partner bought a Remington 1187 at the same time i bought my Benelli last year, he shot my gun for the first time this fall and within a week he traded for a Benelli. i am a little suprised that no one has mentioned Beretta or Winchester though.
