Mossberg 500 question….?

May 12th, 2011 by eranio

which model of the Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun should i get???? i am going to be using it for home defense and hunting(squirrel, coyotes, deer, birds, etc, probably nothing bigger than a deer). also i would like a nice flashlight and/or scope, but idk which model to buy, i was thinking about the tactical, or persuader/cruiser. I don’t want a wood stock or anything, all synthetic.
if you think i should get the wood, why? and if i do could i put accessories on it?
which MODEL should i get???????
could i add a pistol grip to the model A?
does the model a have any other names?

It’s a model 500 Mossberg .410 pump. ALSO, is the "length of pull" from the butt end to the trigger–or just to the end of the wood stock?

THANKS!
I dont think its been altered or anything since factory so is it modified or …. ?

Mossberg 12 Gauge shotgun ?

November 6th, 2010 by eranio

Ok I have a mossberg maverick model 88 12 Gauge. It looks exactly like the mossberg 500 except that it has the black synthetic plastic stock and fore grip/slider pump, and that makes it look kinda cheap. So I need to know, will a factory wood stock and fore grip/slider pump off of a mossberg 500 fit on my mossberg maverick model 88 ??? Thanks !

Which shotgun to buy? Disadvantages of a semi? Browning vs Remington 1187. Camo vs wood stock.?

March 4th, 2010 by eranio

I am in the market to buy my first shot gun in the next month or so. I want to be able to hunt any bird(turkey and duck mostly). I think i want to go for a semi-auto but am not 100% sure. I was at Bass Pro and like a Browning that they have that is a semi (not sure of the model but it was 9.99). I also liked the Remington 11-87.
I know i will be paying a premium for the name but is it worth it? Also, i like the look of a wood stock but i also like the camo. What are the pros and cons of them both? Also, are there any disadvantages to a semi besides harder to clean and might not cycle smaller shells?
I do not want to buy an 870 because i feel that i might later want to move up to a semi. I want to be able to keep this gun for years and years.
Lastly, i am open to any suggestions on OTHER shotguns besides the ones that i listed.

I really like the Benelli M1, 12 gauge, semi-auto shotgun I just purchased used at a pawn shop.?

November 28th, 2009 by eranio

It’s in very good to excellent condition. What’s it worth? I paid 5 for it. Was that a good deal. it has about a 20" barrel and an extended magazine.
What is it worth?
gordon b, actually the pawnshop I deal with here in Arkansas always gives me unbelievable deals. The Benelli was on consignment from a man with a big medical bill. If I had wanted to be an @ss I probably could have got him down some, but that wouldn’t be right. I also got an FAL L1A1 in new condition from another consignment there for, get this, 0. Both these deals were out the door, tax included. I could tell you even more but y’all might come here and swipe all the good deals out from under me. OK, one more. About three years ago I was at a yard sale and this guy had a brand new Ruger Vaquero with 4-1/2" barrel in .44 magnum with the ivory-like factory grips in the box and I talked him down to 0, I sh!t you not. Everything is cheap in Arkansas!
JD, it’s got the beavertail wood forearm, full length wood stock with sling slot cut in the side. A rifle like front sight and a wierd arched rear sight. That’s about it.
