What is the best kind of shotgun?

January 8th, 2010 by eranio

I’m 12 and I want to fight in the army or marines and I want a shotgun when I grow up. I’ve been doing research on what the best shotgun is and I got the remington 870. Is that the best or is there a better shotgun? (I’m talking about military forces, not hunting or anything).

    Your research is correct.

The Remington 870 is a STAPLE in shot gun ownership. People who have 20 shotguns STILL keep the 870 they grew up with.

Remington also makes a youth model of the 870… depending on your size and ability to handle a full size firearm.

QUESTION – What does a shotgun have to do with military service?

shotguns are not really used in the military, atleat not for combat. ive seen them used for only 2 things during my time in: slugs for blowing open locks on doors, and non lethal rounds kept in a few shotguns in the guard shack at our EPW areas.
anyway theres several good shotguns out there, really depends on your own personal feeling for it though. personally i like mossbergs, especialy the 700 series. it just has the most "right" feeling for me, but everyone is different. for what its used for in the military though: a gun for blowing the lock off a door is a gun that blows a lock off a door. doesnt need to be anything too fancy or special

Obviously the best shotgun is the Super Shotgun from Quake II.

I have a Winchester 97 Trench Shotgun with the original bayonet. It is definitely an attention getter. But it sure kicks like a mule.
