So you want a shotgun for shooting clays and home protection…
I can think of one shotgun that fits the bill exactly…. Its a Mossberg 500 combo model… It comes with 2 barrels. One for field use and a shorter barrel for home defense / security use…. Take a look!
A remington 1187 is a nice choice because a semi auto has low recoil if you shoot allot and you can get a shorter barrel for it for home defence. you can also buy a tactical stock and change it for either clay shooting or home defence.
I have a bunch of shotguns, but I prefer my Beretta 390 silver mallard, Great gun holds 4 very low recoil, has never jammed and requires no maintenance, actually shoots better when it is dirty.
to learn about the pro's and con's of each as well as the biggest mistake all the "heavy artillery" guys make when choosing "terminator ammo"!
(Hint: It has nothing to do with "stopping power" but it's nearly as important to your family that you get this right! Not doing so could cost you a lifetime of grieving that no law-abiding family should suffer...EVER!)Read More...

Many prefer an over and under for the clays. It would work for home as well.
