What is the best shotgun scope on the market ?

I need a scope for my shotgun and was looking to spend anywhere from 60-200dollars. Do you have any suggestions?
because my shotgun does not have a front sight and was made to have a scope on when shooting slugs

Dont listen to the other two who obviously know nothing about shotgun slugs. Cavemen jumped on deer and beat em with rocks but a scoped sabot shooting rifled slug with a scope is way better. Scopes allow you better accuracy, and better low light targeting than irons. But anyway, Best can get way into the thousands but good enough is well in your price range. Shotgun scopes I have used with good performance are the Bushnell Trophy series and the Simmons whitetail classic. The high end Bushnells and Simmons in the $100-$200 range are pretty good scopes run away from the under 100 Walmart specials. Probably the best bang for the buck in scopes is the Weavers 1X3. I would look at either a 2.5X fixed or a low mag variable.

shooting a lot of slugs ?
Learn to shoot first… back in the day everyone in our camp could shoot some pretty plain jane bird guns with slugs and a gold bead.
If you couldnt hit a paper plate 3 of 5 at 75 paces you bought the beer.

Do you wear glasses? The range of a shotgun does not warrant a scope. If you need a scope on a shotgun you should not be shooting.

I have a Simmons Pro-hunter 7×32. Can’t say it’s the best on the market, but great for the price. It is excellent for the closer range of shotguns (at least to 100 yds, or maybe more) I believe you can get a new one mounted & bore sighted for around $160. I realize that they are not the best, compared to real expensive scopes, but it is perfect for where I hunt…in the woods. I LOVE mine!… I don’t understand why some make fun of a scope on a shotgun… my eyes are not the best, but it is more a matter of seeing the cross hairs very clearly on your target & seeing that target clearly. With some magnification, I feel much steadier & the light gathering helps me in dimly lit conditions.

Consider the Nikon 2-7X32MM Scope….. I have one of these on one of my shotguns and it has been a pleasure to use….. I liked it so much I bought another and put it on one of my Ruger Mini 30′s…………..

I like my Simmons diamond reticle. It wasn’t expensive, but that was years ago.
