What is the best shotgun to buy with a 20 inch barrel or less?

Looking for an affordable (under 0) pump shotgun with a shorter barrel mainly to keep for home defense but would also like to use it for deer hunting with slugs (mostly for thick woods and under 50 yards). Would also want a regular stock, no folding or pistol grip tacticool looking crap. Who the hell needs a laser on a damn shotgun. The ability to put a light would be handy but not necessary.

Take a look at the 870 with a 20" slug barrel and rifle sights as it will fill both the positions you are seeking to fill with one item.

Either the Remington 870 Express w/18" barrel, or the Mossberg 500A w/18 " barrel. The Mossberg is right at about $275. The Remington is around $350.

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 is the ticket. Either one can be had for under that price. Ck out the big chain stores like Walmart,Cabela’s and whatever is in your area.
