Mate, the shotgun itself has no muzzle velocity, its the ammo you poke down the tube that your asking about and thats infinetly variable.

Slugs, are one of my favourites big hits lots of damage. Fusion ammo do a 3/4 oz slug that will exit the pipe at 1850 fps packing around 2493 ft-lb of energy Ouch!.

Buckshot, 12 large balls exit at approx 1450fps, effective range 150 yards max but u gotta hit the target. I have knocked down roo (kangaroo) on the run with Buckshot up to 130 yards, having to lead them by about 5-6 metres.

No2 or No4 Shot is good for in close work and will fold up roo and rabbits easily and also give you a good spread.

Which brings me to a question, do you have chokes?

Realistically, the most common buckshot and BB shot loads are not going to have much of a predictable effect on target beyond 25 yards, however that effect is usually devastating against unarmored targets. Slugs at closer ranges produce very positive results against several types of armor and hard cover. With slugs your accuracy can be good at 100 yard. with good slugs you should expect a 5.2" group at 100 yards. a muzzle velocity of arond 1200 fps to around 1350) is normal for most loads

I agree with what jeffrey said except for bb shot loads being good for 25 yards. It will depend on the chocke of the barrel. on that gun you can get about a 10 inch shot group at about 40 yards and 13in at about 50yds depending on the ammo. some guns with a full chock can get a lot tighter.
