What is the part of a gun called that you hold to cock a shotgun?

A normal shotgun, not lever action, but a pump action.
I found it, it’s called the forestock.

If you are the first to answer forestock, you win!

A pump action shotgun is c o c k e d by moving the forearm stock backwards and then forward.

The forearm is the place in front of the receiver where you are placing your support hand when aiming the shotgun.

    it’s called a ‘forestock’?
LMAO, and to think I called it a ‘slide’ all these years. I mean who’d have thought it? Especially since ‘pump-actions’ were technically called ‘slide actions’ since their advent.
