What is the Value of a Model 1889 Remington double barrel 12 ga. shotgun.?

The gun is in shootable conditon. It is a grade two with fine twist barrels. On a scale of 1-10 the gun is about a 7. Can anyone can tell me what it is worth.

MODEL 1889 SxS HAMMER
- 10, 12, or 16 ga., 28, 30, or 32 in., a few 26 in. are known. Decarbonized, twist, or damascus barrels, exposed "circular" hammers, rib marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.," top lever, all grades have checkered pistol grip and forend with various designs according to grade, Deeley & Edge forend catch. Grade number is stamped on water table left of the ser. no. Rubber buttplate with R A Co logo. 134,200 mfg. 1889-1908. Ser. range from 30,000 to 100,000. After the year 1900, ser. nos. are in the 200,000 range.

it depoends on the buyer and how does he apreciate the gun usage.
the range is between $650 and $800 for a new one.
so ,used, it would be about $300-$550.

Based on my own sales, I would say $500-600ish range. Do an advanced search on gunbroker, and pull up closed auctions only, paying attention to which have actually SOLD.
That will give you a good start with comparison values. The books are really not that accurate for basing value. Good luck!
