Winlite, from Winchester.
Their No 8 2-3/4 shells shoot at 980 fps. Rather than
1200+ fps.
Using a auto loader will help too. Pump and over and under shotguns give you all the recoil. The mechanism of the auto loaders absorb some of the recoil.
You might also consider a .20ga.

I would suggest you get a recoil pad and ad it to your gun if you think it kicks to much are chang to a smaller gun but they all have a kick

Typically bird shot has the least felt recoil. If you don’t have one already, install a limb saver. It’s a rubber pad that installs on the butt of the shotgun. It helps with recoil.

look at the shell contents start with 1 oz. of shot or the least you can find. pushing the shot causes the recoil more shot more recoil. Jesse

A 24g target load fired from a semi auto will give very little recoil.

As long as you keep that stock tucked tight to your shoulder when
firing, any standard 12 ga. cartridge won’t break anything.
Trap and skeet loads throw a lighter charge of small shot at less than normal velocity if you want somewhat lighter ‘familiarization’ rounds.

birdshot, reduced recoil light loads. works for all shotgun and rifle calibers.
