I use Beretta’s myself so may I congratulate you on your choice of shotgun.
What we have here is a classic example of horses for courses.
For fowl and pigeon I use an Ulrika AL391 synthetic.
For Pheasant a 687 Silver Pigeon 5.
Both are in12g, 30" barrels and multi choked.
If I had to have just 1 gun I’d have a 686 Silver Pigeon. Not too expensive and ok for pigeon, game, fowling and clays.
Jack have you ever been Pigeon shooting? I’ve spent many a day on the flight line and fired of 3 shot’s with a 3-2 ratio.

Most pheasant hunters use a side by side or over and under.
Most waterfowl hunters use the semi-auto. Multiple shots are seldom encountered with pheasants, pigeons, etc. -excepting quail. Multiple shot opportunities are common with waterfowl.

some people like the swing of a double better. However it is more of a specailized weapon, I think the semiauto would be a better all purpose gun. Later on, you can aquire an over-under for pheasants.
I think you would be happier with a semiauto while pheasant hunting rather than an over-under in the duckblind
