It’s a different shotgun in each movie.

In the first movie, he used a Winchester 1897 Trench Gun throughout the entire movie. It wasn’t cut down. though. It was full length with the factory bayonet lug.

In the second movie, he used a cut down, pistol gripped Norinco (Chinese) copy of a Winchester *1887*, not an 1897. It’s a lever action, not a pump.

In the most recent movie, he used, for a short time, a sawed off Winchester Mod 12 pump that he took off a dead soldier.

mate i have not seen the movie but if it was short then it may have been a coach gun. i believe it got its name from its original purpose defending stage coaches.
    happy researching..staycool

    search at therpf.com

The people there will even be able to tell you exactly what changes they made from the factory gun.

    It’s a Winchester Model 1897.

I saw the movie a long time ago. I believe it was a Winchester pump.

it was a model 1897 Winchester that had been cut down. This shotgun seems to be really popular with Hollywood, even though it only held 3 rounds, I’ve seen hollywood "stars" firing them non stop 5 or 6 times without reloading!!
    shoot safe
