I've had both the 870 and Mossberg 500 and prefer the fit, feel, and function of the 870. I know others that prefer the 500. It's all in what feels best to YOU. Either one is a great choice and there are many accessories for both. What type of target shooting are you going to be doing? Clay targets? Paper targets at Turkey shoots? Some other type?
