Where can I buy the forearm part of the stock for a Perfection 12 gauge single shot shotgun?

September 8th, 2010 by eranio

I have an old 12 gauge s/s shotgun that is missing the wooden forestock. The only marking on the gun is the word "perfection" stamped on the receiver. I know it’s not a real valuable firearm, but it has some sentimental value. Is there a source for "generic" stocks? I have some experience in woodworking, and could probably modify it if necessary.

Your shotgun was manufactured by the WH Davenport Arms Co between 1891-1910.

You can check the Numrich Arms website for a replacement forend, but I’m afraid that the age of it will make it extremely hard to locate an authentic part. Not only would you need to make the wood forend, but you’d have to find a correct locking latch for it as well.

I’m not aware of any "generic" side-by-side forends available that you might be able to modify for that, but I’ll check around to see what I can find for you and repost if I come up with anything.

    Good luck -
