Kat, I’m a master small arms instructor at have several ranges that I conduct Firearm Safety , Hunters Education, and Concealed weapons classes at. I would suggest that you first contact a local range or gunshop, next find out about a hunters safety course. You may not ever hunt but you will meet some others who have shot and cleaned a shotgun. Other resources are a local well advertised gunsmith, if he starts out with you need to fix this or let me upgrade you to this; just turn around and walk out. A decent gun smith will take the time to explain the fire arm to you and show you how to maintain it, he will want your business again. Check the local ranges for safety classes, ask their rangemaster for help, or see if you have a coworker that hunts or shoots.

Another option is to do a web search for ranges and shooting clubs in your area, and finally I read some where that the CHP has a fire arms safety course. That may be a resource as well. Good luck and good shooting.

Just put it up to your shoulder and fire. Maybe go to a range and ask for assistance. Throw a add up for training or go ask a local police station. Maybe youtube videos, they can be helpful. Good luck.

You can go to Compton or Columbine. If your in IE you can just go out to the desert.

Go to a gun safety course and ask around for instruction.

I’d start at your local range. They can probably point you towards a shooting club which will be full of people happy to help you learn. If you were in my town, I’d teach you myself. Shooters and hunters are passionate about their sport, and they are invariably thrilled to share it because that’s how the sport stays alive.

My first recommendation would be the local chapter of NRA. Failing to find anything in that department try to locate a beginner skeet shooting course. They often have a youth branch for those less experienced and have coaches/ trainers that are willing to spend time one-on-one with their students. There are courses available for women and girls that are taught by women, if that is an issue.

If all else fails, or if you are more comfortable doing so, ask a trusted friend or family member. You may be surprised to discover that some of those closest to you can provide all the information you need.

Whatever option you end up using enjoy your shooting and stay safe.

Any shooting range that has a skeet/trap range. These guys would love to pass their knowledge off to others. Look for a small group of people who have expensive looking over/under guns, these are big investments and usually indicate a good shot. And practice. A lot.

    Three things jump out.

First look to the NRA and a NRA shotgun instructor.

Second look up a hunter education class near your area. This most likely will not be a live fire course, but will learn something and contacts made there can move you further along to finding someone somewhere to help.

Third, find a trap/skeet range or club and ask if they have classes.
