Who makes this side-by-side double barrel shotgun?

November 14th, 2009 by eranio

I saw a double barrel shot gun at a store and told myself that I would remember the make and model and of course I didn’t. It was a used gun selling for 9, 12 gauge, the total length being around 35 to 43 in, single trigger, older looking model, most likely Winchester, could be Remington, no visible hammer showing, wood grain, and silver with blue barrel. It is not the Remington SPR220. Who makes this gun, and what is the model?

It could be a Stoeger coach gun. Check it here:

This description is fairly vague, but it sounds like it could be a 1950′s vintage Fox / Savage. Is there anything engraved on the bottom of the receiver, like a scene or numbers?
